Julalikari Arts

Julalikari Arts is situated in Tennant Creek. Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation operates the Julalikari Arts Centre under its CDEP programme. Julalikari Arts and Crafts was established in 1994 in response to the local Aboriginal women’s requirements to do more meaningful work. There are currently 27 women working at the Arts Centre. Some of them have been painting for many years and others have just started.
Metis Internet Partners worked with Julalikari Arts to provide a content management system for their website and to integrate their online gallery with their art database. The project has allowed Julalikari Arts to be independent and manage their website with minimal effort, although the 500km’s between Tennant Creek and Alice Springs caused plenty of headaches throughout the project.
